My Fondest Christmas Memory

Christmas is already over but Christmas spirit remains, Ms. Jade of Mommawannabe is sponsoring this Christmas Fondest Memory Contest.

The fondest Christmas memory I ever had is during my childhood days. I always remember those old days, wishing I am still a child today.

Christmas is very special to me when I am still a kid and even until now, as I have recall every Christmas my mother wake me up early as early as 4 o'clock in the morning, she will bath me and clean me thoroughly, help me to wear my new clothes and etc. Then when daylight came my cousin’s and I go to our Uncle’s and Aunt’s house to ask for “aginaldo”, after that my family and I went to town to attend Christmas mass then visit some of my Godparents, they will give me money or gifts after I blessed on their hands, that’s the culture that never fades in Tarlac until now, when you meet an old people in the street in your locality you have to bless to them, if you came from the church you have to bless to your parents and grandparents or any old people you know. That’s the culture I can’t forget Christmas or not Christmas, but the fondest memory that still retain to me is when my mother bath me every Christmas day, because if it just normal days I am the one who bath myself. Christmas day lang ata ako nag-aalis ng libag noong bata ako eh” (Joke)

After visiting my Godparents where sometimes we also ate in their house, we also visited some of our relatives especially oldies, and of course blessing on their hands never end. When the visiting time is over, we’re back to town to buy toys and some clothes from the gifts I’ve received. My sister was too young that time, maybe she can’t still walk straight. That’s our routine every Christmas day.

When I was six years of age I got a culture shock when we went home in Odiongan, I was born in a place where asking for blessing (mano po) to old people is normal but I never see it there. It is funny though among my cousins I am the only one who always blessed on my grandmother sister’s (father side). Time came I already forgot that culture, a simple hi is enough now. , but the last time we went home in Tarlac my grandmother always telling me “bless” even I am already married.

Picniking on the web

Maybe some of you notice the changes on my pics, they're bit of presentable this time with a new style and design. Well I am using Picnik the easiest way on the Web to fix and design our photos. It's awesome and easy to use.

Before I go to far just wanna say thanks to Ateh Pink , I got this link from your site...toinkz...Thank you so much for sharing a good site.

The photo in the left is taken in Polonnaruwa while waiting for the car that will bring us in the bakery.

High-cut pink

It was been a long time since I got an entry in Pink Meme, and today I try hard to look for something pink in my vault of pictures, luckily I encounter this picture (this is me when I was younger) I mean this is my younger sister in her new pink shoes. It was taken last June before I left the Island of Romblon, Philippines. My mother and I bought this in Baclaran, we really look for this pair of shoes because my sister requested it as "pasalubong" so even the sun was so hot we patiently look for a pink one and this kind of shoes (high -cut). I can't remember how much is it but the price ranges from P300-P400. It was so hard to look for a pink one because this shoes was just new trend that time.

Yay, the blouse is also a pink one ah, its from Natasha one of my favorite blouse.

This is my 3rd entry for "I love Pink", to join just click

Dirty Wednesday

This is a funny shot of my shoes after a long day of tour in Polonnaruwa, kind of messy huh? It's been one month since we travel in Sri Lanka but I just washed my shoes this week, actually it is still in a drying stage. You know why? When we arrived here in Seoul, it is snowy, I only have one shoes with me so if I wash this I don't have any shoes to wear if we are going outside. Toinkz!

We left my old sloppy shoes in the last hotel we stayed in China that's why I don't have a spare one and I can't buy lot of things in here because I can't carry them when we are going to leave Korea.

Saturday Gimbap

Last Saturday we went at International Clinic, Itaewon to have my second B shots (Hep B). Actually I am kinda one week late, but hubby feel tired during that week. Whew, the shot was kinda hurt, the nurse had also told me my arm will be numb for few days and she was right. Well we have to return again in June for my second A & third B shots. Hopefully we are still here.

Itaewon is kinda far from us, I wore three clothes behind my coat that day. I just want to make sure that my snut will not run away from my nose because of cold temperature. (lol) I have learn my lesson the other week when we go to Canadian Embassy I am so cold that time.

Anyway, it was been a long time since we ate Gimbap, a popular Korean fast food made from steamed white rice (bap) and various other ingredients, rolled in gim (sheets of dried seaweed) and served warm in bite-size slices. Gimbap is often eaten during picnics or outdoor events, or as a light lunch, served with danmuji or kimchi. It is similar, but not identical, to norimaki, one of the many variants of the Japanese rice-based dish sushi.

The basic components of gimbap are rice, meat or other protein-rich ingredient, and a large variety of vegetables, pickled, roasted, or fresh. Traditionally, the rice is lightly seasoned with salt and sesame oil/perilla oil. Popular protein ingredients are fish cake, crab meat, eggs, and/or seasoned beef rib-eye. Vegetables usually include cucumbers, spinach, carrots, and danmuji (pickled radish). After the gimbap has been rolled and sliced, it is typically served with danmuji

Kimchi Friday

It's been a few days since my last post, I am just not feeling well to write and this 'girl thing' is killing me.

As usual we went shopping last Friday night, buy some stuffs for home and for cheat day. In our surprise when we are paying in the counter, the old couple (owner)gave us this big container of home-made kimchi, never thought this is what they mean last week when they're seems so interested that we always bought bag of kimchi's on their supermarket. They said something in Korean language but in the manner that we cannot understand each other we just smile and say "kamsahamnida" (thank you), all we understand is the word kimchi. My husband and I feel so thankful to their kindness as we say thank you to them. This is full though but 'someone' already got his share before I can take picture.,

Since my husband arrived here in Seoul, he usually buy his stuffs in that supermarket that's why he already got a point card, it is also the nearest super market into our apartment. Things changed last Christmas, a new bigger supermarket had opened just near it which I had blog previously. Since then only few people shop to the old one, stocks where smaller and before there are three people working in the supermarket but after our vacation in Sri Lanka they are gone, those old couple supersede them whom I am referring maybe the owner.

I feel bad for them, the old supermarket is family own and the new one is company own(because they are in uniform). How I wish, the new supermarket is gone.

Kimchi also spelled gimchi, kimchee, is one of numerous traditional Korean pickled dishes made of vegetables with varied seasonings. Its most common manifestation is the spicy baechu (cabbage) variety. Kimchi is the most common banchan, or side dish, in South Korea and many South Korean communities and locales. Kimchi is also a common ingredient and combined with other ingredients to make dishes such as kimchi stew (kimchi jjigae) and kimchi fried rice (kimchi bokkeumbap). Kimchi is so ubiquitous that the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) developed space kimchi to accompany the first Korean astronaut to the Russian-manned space ship Soyuz.

Frankenstein

These past few weeks I have been hooked up reading some paper backs, I have read the novel written by Mary Shelly which is entitled Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, generally known as Frankenstein.

When we heard the name Frankenstein what comes to our mind is the beast, right? At first I believed that Frankenstein was also the beast but after reading Mary Shelley's novel, Frankestein is no other than the doctor, Victor Frankestien the creator of the beast who killed his younger brother, his friend and wife. The story was very tragic and sad.,

I am not being contented by just reading the book so I have also watched the old movie Frankenstein (1938), the plot of story is different though from the novel.

For information about the author , Shelley started writing when she was 18 and the novel was published when she was 20. The first edition was published anonymously in London in 1818. Shelley's name appears on the second edition, published in 1831. The title of the novel refers to a scientist, Victor Frankenstein, who learns how to create life and creates a being in the likeness of man, but larger than average and more powerful. In popular culture, people have tended incorrectly to refer to the monster as "Frankenstein". Frankenstein is infused with some elements of the Gothic novel and the Romantic movement. It was also a warning against the expansion of modern man in the Industrial Revolution, alluded to in the novel's subtitle, The Modern Prometheus. The story has had an influence across literature and popular culture and spawned a complete genre of horror stories and films.

Haiti Relief Fund

Farmville has a relief fund for Haiti, due to the devastating earthquake happened a week ago. The relief fund was like this you have to unlock white corn for 25 FV cash, after it you can plant the white corn for one week, harvested every 6 hours and it doesn't withered. My hubby and I just decided to contribute for the relief fund, so we bought 25 FV cash each by means of real money in order we can unlock the white corn. So far hubby is enjoying planting white corn to his farm, I just started today.

Fuel refills gone

The only reason why I have been addicted in hatching eggs especially golden eggs in Farmville because of the FUEL refills I could get, but unfortunately Farmville change those stuffs inside the eggs, they became useless to everyone especially golden eggs. In this case, I supposed I have more time to blog, I have also sold a lot of my golden chickens after completing the blue ribbon for Egg-celent Discovery...
White mystery eggs now has a good stuff in it, like the outhouse and the groovy scare crow, I want the latter though.

Farmville Addict

I am one of the people who is addicted in playing farmville , when I wake up facebook first before anything else, hatched egg here and there and etc., sometimes I forgot to eat my meals I just noticed it when my back starting to ache by sitting on the floor while the laptop is in top of bed. It seems farmville is everything to me, I don't have anymore time to blog, click my earning sites and etc., if I can just prevent myself to do the call of nature maybe I will, I am sitting in front of the computer for 7-9 hours playing farmville.

Well this are the chickens on my farm, lot of golden eggs, it is so tiring to get mystery egg though. Have to load and reload my coop so many times in order I can get a lot of eggs for my neighbors.
